FUNNY FRANKLIN

Franklin is currently in foster care and is a very happy boy. Franklin is a lab/shepherd blend and is not as big as he looks in his pictures he is only 50 lbs. His foster parents Terri and Ian say he is loving, good natured and always eager to please. He is very affectionate and has a wonderful, playful side that makes you laugh at his silly antics. Franklin is completely house trained (he will go to the door if he needs out). He gets along well with other friendly dogs – he loves his foster doggy brother, Vinnie.

Franklin is very smart and knows his basic commands. Franklin has graduated from puppy classes – he was a fantastic student and at the top of his class! He walks well on leash. Since Franklin loves to play, we feel a home with another playful companion would be perfect for him.

As with all AARF rescues, Franklin has been fully vetted. He has been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas, dewormed and heartworm tested. AWESOME OZZY

Ozzy is our outgoing little guy. Ozzy is settling in nicely with his foster mom Erma. He is learning the ropes and becoming a good canine citizen. Ozzy has made many new friends in foster care and is learning doggy manners and to have respect for his canine friends. He loves to play ball and will fetch for hours if he didn’t tucker his throwing partner out Ozzy would do wonderfully in an active home, one that will offer him the stimulation he craves.

WHY BECOME A FOSTER PARENT?? – PLEASE READ

On February 16, 2010 one precious and dear life ended. Rosie was found wandering the streets; we suspect that someone drove her and just dumped her off like a piece of garbage. Rosie ended up in a pound facility. Unfortunately, the pound facility where Rosie was being held sent her out to be destroyed. This is a case where it is so vital to have foster homes. The dogs at these facilities receive little to no medical care. They are basically kept 24/7 in a concrete kennel.

SAMMY THE SWEETHEART-ADOPTION PENDING

Please note – that we are looking for a forever home for Sammy that has another dog friendly dog – Sammy is high energy and loves his canine buddies.

Sammy is an absolute sweetie! He is a 1.5 year old, 25 pound, bichon frise/poodle mix. Unfortunately, due to an illness in the family, Sammy needs to be rehomed. Unlike most animals coming into our rescue, Sammy is coming from a loving home and does not have many of the issues abandoned and abused animals tend to have. This happy boy is very social and good with other dogs (has not been exposed to cats). He is full of fun, loves to play fetch and go for walks. Sammy is currently crate trained, obedient in the house and will tell you when he needs to go out. Sammy requires regular grooming every 2 months in order to maintain his beautiful coat.
Since Sammy is young and still has the high energy of a puppy, he will need parents who can join him in daily walks and exercise. Sammy’s ideal home will be one with a fully fenced-in yard (apartment life would not suit Sammy), ichildren over the age of 13 if there are children in the home (because of his size and vulnerability).

We would like to see Sammy in a home with another dog with the same energy level as Sammy loves to play and is excellent with dogs.

SHADOW IS MISSING – PLEASE HELP FIND HIM

Shadow went missing on February 11, 2008. His owner’s yard was broken into – the snowblower along with Shadow was taken. The theft took place on the west mountain in Hamilton, Ontario, but he could have been taken anywhere. He is a friendly boy and very much loved; he is missed dearly.

ADORABLE ARCHIE – Vizsla Mix – ADOPTED

ADORABLE ARCHIE

This innocent boy was literally dragged into Animal Control as his current owner did not have the time for him. Another case of irresponsible pet guardianship – he was treated as something disposable. Her loss will certainly be someone elses gain because he absolutely beautiful! This little guy was so terrified at Animal Control that we moved him into a boarding kennel. He is doing so much better now. Archie is only 8 months old. He is extremely well behaved, calm and loving. He is very gentle with people and taking treats. Everyone at the kennel just loves him.

Here is our little man of the litter. Oreo Cookie was abandoned in a box (along with his Mom and 5 siblings) on the hottest day of the year. This little family almost died in the horrific heat. Oreo is now in a loving foster home and doing so well with his sisters. Being the boy of the litter, Oreo is the largest of the group. He is very confident, laid back and takes the playful, crazy girls in stride. This little cookie is very loving and playful. He is house trained and is socialized with lots of activity, kids, cats and dogs.

Sweet little Bella Boo was abandoned in a box (along with her Mom and 5 siblings) on the hottest day of the year. This little family almost died in the horrific heat. Bella Boo is now in a loving foster home and doing so well with her brother and sister. Bella Boo who is the smallest girl of the litter is extremely inquisitive and playful. She is always the first to investigate but will wait until the coast is clear and the others venture forward before she will move in. She is house trained and is socialized with lots of activity, kids, cats and dogs.

This little berry is very loving and playful. She is house trained and is socialized with lots of activity, kids, cats and dogs.

Ruby has always been a star to us but she is shining much brighter since being on tvs Pick-a-Puppy show. After the show, Ruby found her forever home with Jenn and Stephen. They were able to see past that crazy puppiness to the beautiful, happy girl that she is. Ruby is their baby and the center of their life and attention. She is showered with love and attention, just what she always wanted and deserved. Although Ruby is no longer in need of a forever home, please take a look at our other stars who are still looking for their forever homes. Rescue dogs do not always come from the best circumstances (abused, unwanted or unloved), but with time, patience and love, we can find them the perfect home best suited for them and the owners.
