DARLING DESI, NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

ABOUT DARLING DESI-NOT YET AVAILABE FOR ADOPTION

Meet Desi our newest AARF Rescue. Desi was a surrender she had been severely injured and required immediate vet care. Desi’s diagnosis is her Tibial Tuberosity was separated/broken from the Tibia itself most likely caused from trauma.

On Saturday, August 26 Desi had orthopedic surgery which a tension band wire was inserted to move the broken bone into place. Once in place a pin was used to secure the two bones. Desi has a long road to recovery and we are hopeful that she will make a full recovery.

Desi had her 6 week check up on Tuesday, October 10 and she is doing fantastic and got two thumbs up from our good friends at

New Street Animal Hospital.
Next check up in 4 more weeks and hopefully we’ll get the all clear for her to be able to run and play as a puppy should.

Please note that Desi is not available for adoption at this time as she still needs medical care regarding her orthopedic surgery. She will be having the pin removed when she is spayed in November. We will post updates and post when she is available for adoption

CHARMING CHARLIE

Breed: Russian Blue Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 2 years old
Size: Large
Health: Good Health, vet checked, fully vaccinated including rabies, flea treatments, fully dewormed, neutered and micro chipped
Adoption Fee: $185.00

Charlie who at one time had a family but for whatever reason found himself homeless and struggling to survive on the streets. He was being fed by a wonderful and kind man named Craig. Charlie was too scared and would not come near any human but would go regularly to Craig’s home to be fed. He also was limping on his back leg.

Craig reached out to the rescue world and together with help from many kind people Charlie was live trapped as he was thought to be initially feral. He was taken to a vet under AARF’s care where he had to be completely shaved as the mattes were so extensive. He was fully vetted and it was determined that Charlie was FIV positive As well he had an old injury that had healed; his thigh bone had been broken most likely from being hit by a car.

Charlie received the all clear from the veT and is in foster care where he is settling in. We have him on supplements to boost his immune system in order to cope with FIV. Please note that cats with FIV can live long and have a good quality of life. Charlie is so good natured. He is good with other cats. He is one special boy.

Charlie is a soul cat we say this because he touches the soul of all those who meet him. He is sweet and affectionate and loves to be on your lap. He is a perfect lap cat.

Charlie is doing wonderfully in foster care; he loves the kids and gets along well with the dogs. He loves to hang out with everyone. He is one chilled out kitty 🙂

HONEY BUNCH, NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

HONEY BUNCH-NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Honey Bunch is not yet available for adoption. She is in our foster program. Honey is a fearful little dog; she lived on the streets for quite some time so she has learned to be protective of herself.

Her foster mom is working to socialize Honey and to show her that life is good and she doesn’t need to worry anymore.

Honey loves the other dogs in her foster home; she runs and plays with them and is quite social with her doggie friends. She is also good with the cats in her foster home.

Honey will require an all adult home one that has a calm and quiet energy.

We have had Honey fully vetted as she needed some major dental work as well as being spayed, back dew claws removed and up to date vaccinations.

We will post when Honey is available for adoption.
